Raise my eyes to see You, for low they tend to seek.
Raise my chin to You, for the earth only slaps my cheek.
Raise my gaze to You, so I can stop before I fall
Into flesh’s trap where I can’t be reached at all.
Raise my eyes to seek You; shake me out of my sleep.
Raise my heart from its weary walk that makes it want to weep.
For if I raise my eyes and focus, Lord, on You,
There is nothing on this earth I can not do.
